2364 -- Promoted to Lieutenant.  Continued as an instructor at Starfleet Academy.  Honored by and named honorary member of the Vulcan Academy of Science for the number of Vulcan candidates graduated under his watch.

2370 -- Promoted to Lieutenant Commander and assigned to Starfleet Intelligence.  Trained in special operations and commando tactics.  Participated in countless exercises and missions within and without Federation territories.

2372 -- Promoted to commander and assigned as first officer on the USS Santana, and later promoted to commanding officer after death of superior in battle.

2375 -- Forced to abandon the Santana after encounter with then-unknown Bri after the ship was disabled during what was thought to be an act of mercy in rescuing the Bri ship and crew.  The ship was destroyed during the evacuation with few casualties.

2375 -- Cleared of negligence in Santana loss by routine inquiry.  Honored for his quick thinking in saving his crew.

2375 -- Offered promotion to Rear Admiral and position in Starfleet Operations.  Declined offer and elected to accept command of the new Sovereign class U.S.S. Endeavor.  Murdock stated he was not ready for a desk job.  Liked the rank.  Liked the pay.  Liked the parking spot but didn't like the desk.

2377 -- Captain Murdock's records sealed.  Listed as MIA

2377 -- Assigned to command "Omega" - a special operations black team charged with crossing into enemy territory to spy and create espionage.  Permitted to hand select his 6 command crew / strike team members.
