Your Role

Your role in the USS Retribution RPG is simple.   You are asked to create a character and a biography (character background) for your Character.  A sample can be found by pressing on this link: here.

Your responsibility is also simple, however it is the "key" to a productive and enjoyable environment.  You are asked to play your character as if you were really that character.  Your character has a personality just like you do.  You can decide to be obnoxious and mean or easy-going and friendly.  You can be any alien race you choose, allowing you to explore all of your fantasies.

The "Ultimate Star Trek Experience" as we see it is bringing Gene Rodenbury's vision of Trek to the fans who want to make the whole experience more real.  Politics are just no fun and we look to avoid them, which is why we have established some rules and regulations for play.  Follow those rules and you'll get the most enjoyment out of the game.

My last paragraph calls this a "game" and that is exactly what it is.  However, it will become more then just a game to you if you really put some time into your character.  It will become an adventure and an escape from everyday life.

In the "game" you will be able to be someone completely different.  If you are shy and introverted in real life, you can be a bold and outgoing personality in the "game".  It can really be a lot of fun.

We like to meet new people from around the world.  What is most interesting is that the politics of the world seem to go away in the role playing world.  It doesn't matter if you are from China or from the USA.  You can be friends in-character and form a bond out of character.  You see, we really aren't all that different and shouldn't be afraid of one another.

The RPG (role playing game) will use current events as a tool for developing ongoing missions.  Just as Star Trek was based originally on the "cold war" between the United States and Soviet Union, we will focus on current events to put together story ideas and extrapolate on them.

Your input as a player is very important and you are encouraged to add to the story line.  Major plot changes or sub-plots need to be approved by the Captain, but your character can get very involved without having to "create" action outside of the current events.

Star Trek was known for the phrase: "boldly going where no man... no one has gone before".  We believe that role playing affords EVERYONE the opportunity to do just that.  Where else will you be able to visit alien worlds across the vast Galaxy in your lifetime?

So you can see just how important your role is in the "game" of USS Retribution RPG.  The game is nothing without you.

Have some fun, that's what we are here for.
